You can end the pain and suffering of animals in factory farms
World Animal Protection is working tirelessly to end cruel farming practices that harm farm animals, so that they can lead a life free of misery and suffering. These vulnerable animals need you to protect them as well. Your donation of either $50, $30 or $20 can give a voice to the voiceless and make a world of difference for pigs, chickens and other animals in need.
You can help end inhumane farming practices
The majority of animals farmed for food live in conditions that cause suffering and stress. They are often kept in crowded barren environments, unable to move freely, see sunlight or have enrichment and some are even mutilated just weeks after being born.
Humane animal farming is better for everyone. Animals live longer, healthier and more active lives. Farmers can earn more too and feel better about their work. That is why here at World Animal Protection we work with governments, farmers and consumers all over the world – campaigning for farm animals and working with businesses to show that farming can be sustainable and profitable. By downloading and using your Humane Food Guide and by making a gift towards our campaign work you will be part of a movement creating change for these defenseless animals.
Our impact
Currently we have two global campaigns working towards high welfare standards for farm animals: Raise Pigs Right and Change for Chickens.
Raise Pigs Right campaign: By 2020, we aim to improve the lives of 175 million pigs every year, by alleviating the most intense suffering inflicted in the production system through close confinement and barren environments.
Change for Chickens campaign: By 2020, we aim to have gained commitments from global food companies that will lead to better lives for10 billion chickens. We are calling for higher-welfare farming systems, which focus more on the welfare needs of the animals.
