Back in September you helped provide care for monkeys like Jono, a long-tailed macaque rescued from the cruel dancing monkey trade in Indonesia. Because of you, Jono’s story is one of healing and hope.

Story Book Farm Primate Sanctuary
In Sunderland, Ontario, our partner, Story Book Farm Primate Sanctuary has been rewriting the stories of primates since 2000. Thanks to donors like you we provided support so that monkeys once exploited in labs, roadside zoos and the exotic pet trade now have what they were once denied: care, dignity and the space to heal.
This isn’t a place where animals are put on display. It’s a place where, because of your support, they can finally feel safe.
Meet some of the monkeys you’re helping
Johnny and Judy, olive baboons
When they first arrived, they were frantic at mealtimes, showing the scars of food insecurity and hunger in their past. Because of you they now know the comfort of regular meals and safe shelter, though the memory of neglect still lingers. Johnny remains dominant, but Judy has learned to outsmart him and enjoy her share of food in peace.

Njeri, patas monkey
Njeri is one of the newest residents. She came from a zoo, where she was the last remaining member of her troop after the others, including her mother, passed away, leaving her completely alone. Now, she’s no longer isolated - she has new neighbours, with Jenkins on one side and a lively group of ring-tailed lemurs on the other, who seem to have caught her attention.
With your help, Njeri is adjusting to a life far removed from hardship, enjoying daily access to the outdoors for the first time. Thanks to your support, we were able to give Story Book a grant to expand their enclosures so Njeri and others like her now have even more space to climb and explore.
