Help feed cats and dogs caught in Canada’s wildfires

Blog

Wildfires are burning earlier, more often, and with greater impact across Canada. For families forced to flee, it’s overwhelming. And for animals caught in the chaos, it can be life changing.

Some are left behind in the rush to evacuate. Others are brought along, but safe places that welcome pets can be hard to find. With routines disrupted and resources stretched thin, many families are left struggling to find food for their cats and dogs.

That’s where you come in.

Providing aid to animals affected by wildfires in Saskatchewan

Saskatchewan has already seen over 250 wildfires this season, well above average. But it’s not just about numbers.

Every fire, no matter how large or small, can separate animals from the people who love them. It only takes one to destroy a home or leave a community without access to the basic care animals need – including food.

In many parts of Saskatchewan, those challenges are even harder. There are fewer resources, fewer supply options, and less support for families with pets. That’s why we’ve partnered with the SaskSPCA to help provide emergency food for cats and dogs during this crisis.

You can help pets today and protect animals for the future

When you give, you’re helping cats and dogs get the food they need right now. But your impact doesn’t stop there.

Massive wildfires are threatening many of Canada’s wildlife species and their habitats. Farm animals too can succumb to fires. Trapped on factory farms, thousands of cows, chickens and pigs have no chance to escape an oncoming inferno. To better protect all animals, we must combat the forces that are endangering people, animals and habitats. When we prioritize the wellbeing of animals, we can ensure that all life thrives.

Our goal is to not only help animals in crisis today, but also stop future emergencies from endangering animals. Your support will help us combat industries like factory farming that are major contributors to climate change. You can help us develop innovative solutions to protect more wild animals and their habitats.

Animals are counting on you. Please give today to help them through this crisis and beyond.
