11 years of advocacy: Tiffany on compassion in action

Blog

For more than a decade, Tiffany has helped transform the love people feel for animals into real-world impact.

As we honour 75 years of moving the world to protect animals, we’re highlighting the passionate individuals behind the progress. Tiffany has been part of the World Animal Protection team for 11 years, helping to turn compassion into meaningful change for animals everywhere.

We caught up with her to reflect on the moments that have left a lasting impression, the campaigns that give her hope, and the powerful role everyday people play in building a better future for animals.

What inspired you to join World Animal Protection and what has kept you motivated to keep working for animals for 10+ years?

Tiffany: My love for animals and belief in World Animal Protection’s mission led me to apply for a role here. Over the past 11 years, I’ve stayed motivated by the compassion and dedication of our donors and colleagues. It’s truly inspiring to witness people turning their love for animals into meaningful action every single day.

What’s one campaign or moment you’ll never forget?

Tiffany: I’ll never forget the collective action taken after the devastating bushfires in Australia. The destruction was heartbreaking, but the overwhelming generosity and hope from our supporters is something I will always carry with me.

What do you think is our biggest win for animals over the years?

Tiffany: There have been so many meaningful wins, but if I had to choose one, I’d highlight the shift by major travel companies away from exploitative wildlife attractions. It’s a huge step forward for the protection of wild animals.

What advice would you give to someone new to animal advocacy and protection?

Tiffany: Aim for progress, not perfection. Every positive change—no matter how small—adds up to something powerful.

What’s your hope for animal protection in Canada over the next 10 years?

Tiffany: That more people recognize the role they play as consumers in the exploitation of animals—and feel empowered to make choices that help animals thrive.

If you could be any animal, what would you choose and why?

Tiffany: An elephant. They’re majestic, intelligent and deeply family-oriented. And as a mom of two, I’d love to have an elephant’s memory!
