Our recent investigation revealed that Tiger Temple Co. Ltd has changed its name to Golden Tiger (Thailand) Co. Ltd. and worryingly, construction has already started on a new venue in Kanchanaburi.
Tiger Temple, on the temple grounds of Wat Pa Luangta Maha Bua Yannasampanno in the Kanchanaburi province, was shut down last year after dozens of dead tiger cubs and hundreds of other tiger parts were discovered during a police raid. The 147 tigers confiscated from the Tiger Temple raid are still being cared for by the Thai Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation (DNP).
Golden Tiger Co Ltd. has a provisional license to operate as a zoo, transferred over from Tiger Temple Co Ltd..
Time is running out
However, the zoo license will not be validated to a full license unless Golden Tiger Co. Ltd, meets 11 specified conditions within six months, including providing enclosures deemed large enough for the tigers and vet care. But these requirements fail to ban breeding or stop cruel tourist interactions with tigers at the proposed new venue.
Action is needed urgently before the Thai authorities grant Golden Tiger Co Ltd. a full zoo license.
We’re deeply concerned that if the new venue opens, tigers will be put at risk again of being illegally trafficked, bred for profit and exposed to more horrific cruelty.
Sign our urgent petition now to protect tigers.
Sign the petition to Thai authorities now
To protect tigers, the Thai Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation (DNP) must not grant Golden Tiger Co. Ltd, the business behind the cruel Tiger Temple venue, the full zoo license needed to open a new attraction.
Tiger Temple was shut down for a reason. Do not allow more tigers to be put in danger by approving a new wildlife tourist attraction operated by the same company as before.
We must protect tigers: they are wild animals, not entertainers.

Urge Thai authorities to do the right thing
You can help send the urgent message to the Thai authorities that tiger cruelty is not acceptable.
By signing the petition, you help us convince the Thai Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation (DNP) to do the right thing.
The more signatures we can gather, the more likely it is that the authorities will listen and we’ll be able to put a stop to this cruel venture.
Horror at Tiger Temple
Following years of allegations of illegal breeding and trafficking of tigers and their body parts, Tiger Temple was raided by police in May 2016.
The scenes from the raid were horrific. Officers discovered dead cubs found in freezers, alongside tiger skins and tiger teeth trinkets.
“These tiger venues need to be stopped in their tracks because they clearly have links to the dark side of wildlife trafficking rings.” – our senior wildlife and veterinary advisor, Dr. Jan Schmidt-Burbach said.
Exploitation for tourist entertainment
If Golden Tiger Co. Ltd is issued a full zoo licence, tigers and other animals will be at risk of forced breeding, and be exposed to horrific cruelty as they are forced to pose for tourists.
Act now. Tell the Thai authorities that tigers are #NotEntertainers. Golden Tiger Co. Ltd must be refused a full operating licence, to protect tigers.
*Please note: not all photos on this page and connected to this campaign show tigers at the old Tiger Temple venue, or any venue connected with it, or Golden Tiger Co. Ltd. These photos are illustrative of the cruel conditions experienced by wild animals at tourist entertainment venues.
